We are excited to see the future through the eyes of local and world-renowned artists at the Digital Extravaganza exhibition. With ToDA announcing its first open call, we are fulfilling our mission to highlight the importance of the contemporary digital art community in Dubai, to discover and nurture young talent and to support the development of the art sector in the UAE. . There are no boundaries in art, and we encourage artists around the world to think outside the box to show their vision of the future and its endless possibilities for the world to admire.

Interested applicants, aged 21 and over, can send up to 5 works in mp4 format, which will then undergo a rigorous selection process, allowing critics and collectors to admire works of excellent quality. One work will then be selected for each shortlisted entrant. Application forms must be completed and submitted by April 24, 2022 (until 23:59, UTC +4). Shortlisted applications will be notified via email and website on May 2, 2022.

Anastasia Garnova & Il Gurn, curators of Digital Extravaganza: “If you want us to describe this exhibition in one word, the word would be sincerity. Because art doesn’t lie. Like a recurring fairy tale or dream, it acts with an element of surprise and instead transforms the lie into a (fantastic one might say) state where a new reality is born. Reality is another word the viewer will become familiar with here at ToDa. Switching between VR, AR, MetaReality, and good old video, we see a delightful opportunity to examine the essence of visual language from different angles. Our goal is to present our plan to you. We want to spark your imagination. And what else do you expect from a digital art exhibition? »

The UAE’s arts scene is booming with Abu Dhabi’s proposed investments of 22 billion dirhams in its cultural and creative industries and the recently launched national strategy for cultural and creative industries aimed at increasing the economic contribution of the United Arab Emirates. industry to at least 5% of GDP over the next decade. Digital Extravaganza will be one of the most dynamic art exhibitions held in the region, providing the perfect venue for a wonderful and inspiring experience of international art in a breathtaking setting.
